Spanish children's channel Clan is restructuring its daily schedule for autumn with new installments of Dragon Ball DAIMA and Pokémon. Public broadcaster RTVE announced the changes ahead of the upcoming school year to reinforce key time slots across its daily programming.

The network plans to combine Japanese anime franchises, expanded international fiction, and rescheduled formats from main channel La 1 to maintain viewer engagement.

RTVE is Spain's state-owned public broadcaster, operating national television channels including its flagship generalist network La 1. Clan serves as the group's dedicated children's channel, broadcasting animated series, youth fiction, and educational content across Spain.

Anime acquisitions and weekend schedules

The animation line-up centers on two major Japanese franchises. The pocket monster franchise premieres the third stage of Pokémon Horizons, titled Rising Hope, in the pre-prime-time slot. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball DAIMA takes over weekend afternoon slots to target both child audiences and nostalgic adult viewers.

Dragon Ball is a Japanese manga and anime franchise created by Akira Toriyama that became a global cultural phenomenon following its release in the 1980s. Pokémon, created by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures in 1996, is one of the highest-grossing media franchises in history, encompassing video games, trading cards, and animated series.

Expanded Disney morning slot and weekend films

Clan is also increasing its morning and post-lunch programming with additional content from Disney. Broadcasters broadened the morning wake-up block by adding a third title to maintain viewer flow in the hours before school and during the post-class break.

The weekend movie schedule brings back the Cine Clan brand for Friday afternoons and Saturday prime time. The autumn film season starts with titles from the Hotel Transylvania movie franchise.

The Walt Disney Company is an international media conglomerate known for its animated feature films and family entertainment. Hotel Transylvania is an animated comedy film franchise produced by Sony Pictures Animation, following the misadventures of classic monsters at a secluded resort.

Sunday night dog adoption show

Canine adoption series Dog House, presented by singer and host Chenoa, will move to Sunday night slots on Clan. The show transitions to the children's channel following its summer broadcast run on RTVE's primary channel, La 1.

Chenoa is an Argentine-Spanish pop singer who rose to prominence on the music competition Operación Triunfo before building a career in television presentation. Dog House is a factual television format focused on rehoming rescue dogs with suitable owners.

Public service and language campaigns

The network's autumn rollout includes two institutional on-air campaigns. The first initiative promotes awareness of Spain's co-official languages by providing basic communication guidelines designed for children.

A second educational campaign focuses on family digital literacy, encouraging responsible social media use and safe internet practices for minors.

Spain's constitution establishes Spanish as the official language nationwide while recognizing co-official regional languages, including Catalan, Basque, Galician, and Aranese, within their respective autonomous communities.
