Pop singer Madonna has arrived on the Greek island of Patmos, marking the latest stop on her summer holiday across Greece.
The 68-year-old star was spotted entering a local taverna to enjoy a meal, with footage of the casual dining moment quickly spreading across social media platforms after being posted on TikTok.
Unlike a staged public appearance, the recording showed the performer enjoying a private vacation moment in an authentic Greek setting.
The video offers a different glimpse of her Greek tour as she joined local diners on the island, which sits in the Aegean Sea as part of the Dodecanese archipelago.
Mayor confirmation and local reaction
Nikitas Tsampalakis, the mayor of Patmos, confirmed the singer's visit during an interview with Greece's state news agency, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
Tsampalakis said that the presence of Madonna and other international personalities who choose Patmos provides the island with massive and essentially free global promotion.
The mayor added that Patmos travels across the entire world through the photographs and personal experiences shared by high-profile visitors.
The island, known historically for its quiet Aegean coastline and sacred sites, regularly attracts prominent international travelers during the summer season.
Corfu birthday party and Greek traditions
The arrival on Patmos follows a celebration on Corfu, an island in the Ionian Sea off northwestern Greece, where Madonna marked her 68th birthday.
The American singer, who was born on August 16, 1958, held her birthday party in Kouramades, a small traditional village on Corfu.
She was surrounded for the occasion by her children, her partner Akeem Morris, and a gathering of close friends.
The evening featured a strong Greek theme, complete with traditional food, live music, dancing, and the custom of smashing ceramic plates.
Madonna later posted an image album of the celebration to her millions of social media followers.
In a caption accompanying the pictures, she told her fans that it was her birthday and urged them to eat, pray, love, drink, dance, break plates, feed cats, and thank God.
She also highlighted Greece and Corfu in the post, expressing her gratitude for her stay on the island.
Helicopter trip to Meteora monasteries
Greece was included on Madonna's travel itinerary starting on August 14, when she traveled from Corfu to the landmark region of Meteora in central Greece.
The singer arrived in the area aboard two helicopters, accompanied by a group of around 12 people that included her son.
Her stay at Meteora lasted approximately three hours, during which she visited the Holy Monastery of Varlaam.
The historic Eastern Orthodox monastery, perched on massive rock pillars, was opened specially for her tour because official visiting hours for the public had already ended.
Following her helicopter excursion to Meteora and her birthday party on Corfu, Patmos became the next stop on the singer's summer journey through Greece.
