Dominican pastor and Christian music singer Marcos Yaroide is recovering in Santo Domingo after undergoing emergency surgery for a retinal detachment in his right eye.
The Santo Domingo-based artist disclosed the medical procedure to his followers on social media, sharing a photograph taken inside a clinic that showed a protective patch placed over his operated eye.

In a message posted alongside the image, Yaroide explained that medical professionals performed the emergency surgery several days ago after diagnosing the retinal condition. He said that the procedure was entirely successful, attributing the positive outcome to God, the prayers of his supporters, and the care of his medical team.
A retinal detachment is a serious ophthalmic emergency in which the retina, the light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye, becomes separated from its underlying supportive tissue. Without immediate surgical intervention to reattach the membrane, the condition can lead to permanent vision loss or complete blindness in the affected eye.
Emergency Surgery and Recovery Process
Yaroide noted that he must complete a few additional days of rest and medical recovery before he can fully resume his daily schedule, public appearances, and ministerial duties.

Despite the sudden health complication, the singer used the update to share positive news regarding his musical career, confirming the upcoming release of his new studio album, Mil Razones Pa' Canta'.
Yaroide told his audience that only a short recovery period remains before the launch, expressing confidence that, God willing, the new recording will be available in a few days. He also expressed gratitude for the ongoing encouragement he receives from fans of his music and ministry.
Yaroide is one of the most prominent figures in Latin Christian music and a well-known evangelical pastor based in the Dominican Republic. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has released multiple acclaimed gospel albums, including his previous production Tributo, and has built a large international following across Latin America.
Support From the Music Community
The news of his emergency surgery drew an outpouring of affection and messages of support from fellow musicians, friends, and followers across social media platforms. Dominican urban singer Ross María responded to the pastor's announcement, describing the medical trial as another opportunity to testify to divine grace and glory.
Dominican pop singer Martha Heredia also sent her support, writing that God is always with him. Meanwhile, prominent Dominican Christian hip-hop artist Redimi2 joined the wave of well-wishes by publicly offering his hopes for Yaroide's swift recovery.
The surgical procedure comes at a key milestone in Yaroide's career as he finishes his medical rest and prepares to roll out his latest musical project to listeners worldwide.
