Marta Sanahuja Suffers Miscarriage and Shares Message

Food influencer Marta Sanahuja, a judge on MasterChef who is widely known as Delicious Martha, has announced on social media that she suffered a miscarriage.

The tragedy has ended her hopes of expanding her family and moved her followers on Instagram. Sanahuja, who serves on the MasterChef judging panel as a replacement for Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, shared the news through a post containing multiple photographs.

In her message, Sanahuja described receiving the news during a medical examination, stating that there was no heartbeat. She called those words her worst nightmare and the three words that no mother would ever want to hear, accompanying her post with an ultrasound photograph.

Family Grief and Shared Pain

Sanahuja expressed the deep emotional impact of the loss, stating that there is no immediate comfort for such a tragedy except time. She told her followers that she and her family would be fine and would eventually learn to live with the experience, adding that everyone in her household had been excited about welcoming a new baby.

To illustrate her family's grief, she shared a photograph alongside her son Enzo, who recently turned 2 years old. Enzo is her child with fellow influencer Rubén García.

Sanahuja explained that she wanted to ground her grief in the reality that miscarriages are far more common than generally recognized. She pointed to statistics showing that one in four pregnancies stops before birth, representing between 25 percent and 30 percent of all pregnancies.

Pregnancy Loss Statistics and Guilt

Highlighting medical figures, Sanahuja noted that in 80 percent of miscarriages, the cause is chromosomal alterations incompatible with life that are completely beyond human control.

She emphasized that she did not want to feel revictimized, noting that other famous women who shared their grief publicly faced unmerciful comments from anonymous social media users attempting to place blame. Sanahuja stressed that women could not have avoided the outcome, did nothing wrong, and did not experience a body failure.

She added that while nobody expects to become part of that statistic, it happens, weighs heavily, and breaks a person, becoming an unavoidable part of their personal story.

Breaking Solitude Around Miscarriage

Explaining why she chose to speak publicly, Sanahuja said she shared the post with a broken heart so that other women facing similar situations would feel accompanied, understood, and less alone. Sending a warm embrace to her followers, she described women as warriors who would emerge from such trials stronger than before.

She challenged the social taboo surrounding early pregnancy announcements, criticizing the common advice to remain silent early on in case something goes wrong. Sanahuja argued that keeping quiet forces women to endure immense pain in isolation without being able to show their vulnerability or grief.

Closing her message, she asked why society normalizes hiding a reality that happens far more frequently than believed, calling on people to stop forcing women to carry such heartbreak in solitude.
