Maya Jama has shared photos from a European holiday in Spain and Italy after wrapping work on Love Island. The 32-year-old television presenter posted a collection of social media pictures following trips across the Channel with her friends on a private jet.
Jama showed off her curves in skimpy bikinis, including a brown string two-piece, as she relaxed in the sunshine. Another picture showed her wearing a low-cut floral printed dress during a night out, with one image capturing the presenter and her friends dancing on a table during dinner at a restaurant.
Jama finished filming the most recent series of Love Island in August before taking her late summer break. The British television host took over presenting duties for the ITV2 reality dating show, which films contestants looking for romance in tropical villas.
Before embarking on her summer getaway, Jama ensured her skin was prepared for the sun by visiting aesthetician Shane Cooper. She became one of the first celebrities in the UK to undergo his revolutionary Xerf skin treatment.
Acting debut in Netflix drama
While enjoying her time off, Jama paused her summer getaway to promote her upcoming acting debut in the second season of The Gentlemen. She attended the premiere of director Guy Ritchie's crime drama series earlier this month.
In the Netflix series, Jama plays a character named Aisha, who makes her first appearance early in episode one. Aisha is seen walking up the driveway of Halstead Manor, the ancestral home inherited by Eddie Horniman, played by actor Theo James.
Before Aisha speaks for the first time, the character Susie gives Eddie background information on her old friend, describing Aisha as a "clever girl who looks after herself and others." According to the storyline, Aisha moved to the Middle East for work and subsequently gained access to the royal circle. She arrives at a shooting weekend with Prince Amir, introducing him to Eddie and Susie as a valuable connection and potential business contact.
Relationship split and views on gentlemen
During promotional interviews for the Netflix drama, Jama was asked what the word gentleman means to her. "What is a gentleman nowadays?" she mused.
"I don't know because I suppose the first thing that comes into your mind is like someone that opens the door and is polite and says pleases and thank yous," Jama said. "But now, I suppose it's just a decent, well-mannered man that has their stuff under control, but knows how to treat a woman and their family and everybody in their life."
"And wears a nice suit most of the time," she added.
The discussion follows Jama's split from her boyfriend, Manchester City football star Ruben, in May after 18 months of dating. The former couple ended their relationship four months after moving into their shared home in Cheshire.
Following the breakup, both Jama and Ruben wiped all traces of each other from their social media accounts. Sources shared that the pair decided to end the relationship after realizing it had run its course, with both focusing on busy periods in their respective careers.
