British actress Minnie Driver suffered a car accident while driving on a rural road in France during filming for Netflix series Emily in Paris.
Driver, who joined the show in its fifth season to play Princess Jane across five episodes, shared news of the crash in a video posted to her Instagram account. The video showed the actress resting in bed while wearing a neck brace to deliver a message of reassurance to her followers.
Driver said she suffered a neck sprain, was in a state of shock, and cried all the time, but added that she would recover and felt very grateful to be alive. She also expressed her gratitude to a van driver who pulled over and helped them before ambulances reached the scene.
Driver gave a special mention to another car that slowed down to observe the scene before driving away without stopping. She wrote that she supposed that was the Tao of the world, representing both light and darkness.

She added that her mind kept reliving the accident, describing it as a very hard experience that seemed to be a necessary part of processing what happened. She also noted that crying helped her and did her good as she began her recovery process.
According to American media outlet Deadline, the actress was in France for the production of the sixth and final season of the Netflix series, which stars Lily Collins. Driver had spent several weeks documenting her adventures in the city on social media, and the crash occurred during her free time.
Impact on Emily in Paris filming
Production on the series has remained practically intact despite the crash, with producers only needing to reschedule a single scene featuring Driver. The actress is currently recovering in London and is expected to return to work when she feels better.
