A court in Moscow ordered wedding photographer Svetlana to pay 400,000 rubles after she published a social media video showing a groom's jaw locking, Telegram channel Baza reported.
The newlyweds hired Svetlana for their wedding photography and paid an extra 5,000 rubles for several reels, which are short vertical videos for social networks. During the reception, the groom attempted to bite into a traditional wedding loaf, known as a karavai, when his jaw jammed. Svetlana thought the moment was funny and uploaded the video online.
The publication upset the bride. Although Svetlana deleted the original clip, copies had already spread to major public pages across social media. The bride had to spend her honeymoon requesting that third-party accounts remove the video. She then sued Svetlana for 700,000 rubles in moral damages.
Legal Dispute and Health Warning
In court, Svetlana pointed to a contract clause allowing her to use shot materials for promotional purposes. The court still ordered her to pay 400,000 rubles, and authorities froze her bank accounts. Svetlana stated that she plans to appeal the verdict.
Jaw issues during meals can indicate underlying health conditions. Nodira Sarsadskikh, an orthopedic dentist at the Attribute clinic, previously explained that clicking sounds in the jaw can lead to severe complications, such as an inability to open the mouth fully.
