Russian singer and composer Yuri Loza has criticized Dima Bilan, saying the honored artist of Russia did not think about spectators when preparing his stadium concert in Moscow, according to Gazeta.Ru.
Loza said many modern performers believe they owe fans nothing. He recalled Bilan's earlier Moscow concert celebrating his Eurovision Song Contest win, which he said was staged purely for scale, with foreign equipment bought down to the last screw because the show was broadcast worldwide.
Loza's criticism
Loza said flash matters more than money in Russia, questioning who ever thinks about the audience. At that same Eurovision victory concert, he said, 20,000 spectators listened to hosts joking in English with no translation provided.
Fan complaints and Bilan's response
The criticism follows complaints from fans about Bilan's July 31 show at VTB Arena, where those in the dance zone said their view was blocked by a six-meter platform he performed on, leaving many unable to see him and forced to watch a wall. Bilan responded by telling fans the concert was innovative and used complex technology that does not always work perfectly the first time.
