The billionaire did not specify when the takedown should take place

Since November, Musk has granted the blue seal to the profiles of Twitter Blue subscribers, a service that guarantees exclusive benefits to users — the plane arrived in Brazil last week, with a subscription starting from 42 BRL per month. By using the service, any profile can get the seal, which gives some accounts a certain authenticity.

“Dear Elon Musk, The blue verification badge has become a joke. In the old days, verification was only for people who were public figures or politicians, but today, unfortunately, anyone can be verified. Your system has lost its magic,” tweeted user RiaReveled, who shortly after received notice from Musk about unsealing old profiles.

Despite the intention, Musk has not revealed a date for the end of the old checks.

This week, Twitter dropped from the air to millions of users around the world, including the United States and Brazil, preventing the tweets from being published. Musk nor the company have commented on the case.
