Apple announced this Monday (13th) that the Apple TV+ streaming service will change its name. Now it’s just Apple TV.
The change is subtle, but can cause some confusion. This is because the name Apple TV is already used in the application that allows you, for example, to buy or rent movies on televisions.
Apple TV+ becomes Apple TV
The announcement took place in declaration about the world premiere of the feature film F1 streaming on December 12th. In the last paragraph of the text, Apple wrote:
Apple TV+ is now simply Apple TV, with a vibrant new identity. Ahead of its global streaming debut on Apple TV, the film remains available for purchase on participating digital platforms, including the Apple TV app, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango at Home and others.
In the last sentence of the paragraph, Apple itself appears to acknowledge the confusion, stating that the film featured on Apple TV (in streaming) will be available for purchase on digital platforms, including the Apple TV app. These are two separate platforms.

Apple did not provide details on the change
Other than the name change and a “vibrant new visual identity,” Apple provided no details on the change.
For now it is unclear whether the platform will have a new logo or something to differentiate it from the application.

Apple TV had a recent price increase in Brazil
