The strange coincidence between the film White Noise and the chemical accident in the USA

Families had to leave their homes in a hurry after a train derailed and caused a leak of chemical compounds on the last day 3

The derailment of a train in Ohio, in the United States, on February 3, caused the leakage of a chemical compound and a fire in the region. The accident caused people to evacuate because of vinyl chloride fumes.

If inhaled, the compound increases the chances of lung cancer, nervous system diseases and liver damage. Water monitoring companies also warn of creating toxic rain.

Same thing happens in the movie White Noise (2022)also shot in Ohio, which tells the story of a couple and their three children as they flee an “airborne toxic event” and then return home and try to resume their normal lives.

Produced by Netflix and inspired by the book of Don DeLillowe have Jack Gladney (Adam Driver), his wife Babette (Greta Gerwigsão) a typical American suburban family in the 1980s who live in fear of a nuclear accident in the face of geopolitical tensions. In the film there is an “airborne toxic event” of a chemical spill that creates potentially lethal clouds. Check out the trailer below:
