Kevin Feige Talks Plans For Next Spider-Man Movie & More

While Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige usually prefers to remain casual about future MCU developments, the release of a new film often finds him opening up a bit to make hints about current projects. The next arrival of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania is one such occasion, and Feige spoke with weekly entertainment on a variety of topics, including future plans for Spider-Man, wonders and then…

When it comes to Spider-Man, he’s been relatively cautious, as the company has yet to reveal plans for any other films. But at least one is in the works, according to Feige. “All I will say is that we have the story. We have some great ideas for this, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.

Also coming this year wondersthe sequel directed by Nia DaCosta captain marvelwhich will see Brie Larson’s hero share the screen with Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ great Monica Rambeau (as seen in VandaVision). They promise us a large-scale space adventure with fun comic chemistry.

“That’s what the whole movie is about. There are fun cosmic elements,” Feige says. “Marvel comic fans will recognize elements of the Kree-Skrull war. captain marvel, not in the timeline but in the story. We’re also doing it in our upcoming Disney+ series. covert invasion, and they’re two very different sequels to that film. Tonally, they couldn’t be more different. But there’s something immensely powerful about seeing Monica, Kamala and Carol together in one frame. For me, it’s just like the first one. avengers movie and see all six of them together in one frame. It’s scary. They look good together and all have different stories from each other.

“The best thing about Kamala in her show, and now in this movie, is that she’s no different than Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Civil war“Feige continues. He can’t believe he’s with these other heroes, and he can’t believe he’s in these places. And it’s funny because we want to be. I want to be that.

A little further into the future is next year. Captain America: New World Orderwhich will see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as Cap hit the big screen for the first time since his debut The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but it’s also important because it will introduce Harrison Ford to the MCU, following the announcement that he will reprise the role of Thaddeus Ross from the late William Hurt.

“We started shooting relatively early,” Feige explains. “I’m sure everyone you’ve talked to about Harrison Ford says so, but it’s amazing that we got to meet and talk to him and have him take on this role. He is tireless with the amount of work he does. It is certainly an important role. for Thaddeus Ross. He is the president of the United States in the film. And with Harrison, you think about it Air Force Oneand you think about some of his comparisons with the president in Clear and present danger. There is a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film we see the dynamic between Captain America and the President of the United States in a way that is just amazing.”
