The Abyss: ‘We all came close to drowning’, Sarah Mortensen tells us about filming her most difficult scene

L’Abime continues to be broadcast on France 2. On Wednesday, February 15, the channel offered the public to watch episodes 3 and 4 of its new mini-series, performed by Gilles Alma and Sarah Mortensen from 9:10. Here, the actors play the main roles of Elsa and Laurent, husband and wife with their teenage daughter.

Seemingly perfect, their family life changes when Elsa mysteriously disappears while jogging. Haunted by a past he hoped to leave behind forever, he and his loved ones find themselves on the hunt and in great danger…

In the second part of the evening, the character played by Sarah Mortensen (who confided in this experience) finally confesses to her husband. Indeed, Elsa reveals her tortured story to Laurent, and then he realizes why his wife has kept his difficult secrets for so many years… So, the capital moment is captured in optimal conditions.

As Sarah Mortensen told AlloCiné, the boxing sequence took place in a small space when the heat was almost unbearable. The actor recalled:In the cabin of the boat, when she tells her man what happened in her life, it was 40 degrees that day… So we were the whole crew in this small boat with no room…

Absolute heat on the set

The Astrid and Raphael star (who told us about Season 4) continued:Our operator was sitting in bed between us, knees touching! The boom operator was standing tall with a large black cloth over his head to block out the light… he almost passed out! At one point his pole fell due to the heat.

We were all sweltering and close to suffocating, clinging to each other… but it’s nice, it makes bonds! (laughs)Sarah Mortensen concludes the day cheerfully. He will remember the experience for a long time!
