to remember

After a one-week reign at the French box office, Asterix and Obelix: Middle Empire must now give up the top spot. Alibi.com 2 takes the Polish position for its first week of release.

The scores achieved by these two popular French comedies are very close: while La Bande à Fifi Alibi.com 2 gathered 1,017,788 viewers (a score very close to the first part), Guillaume Canet’s Band with Asterix attracts 1,009,899 more. That is, in total, at the end of the 2nd week, almost 2.9 million admissions.

This is a higher score than the previous installment of Asterix, On Her Majesty’s Service, which scored 1,981,331 at the same stage, but lower than the other installments. These two comedies should still be filled thanks to the young and family crowd during the more numerous school holidays. Note that Asterix is now the biggest post-Covid French success.

Avatar: The Waterway is now 3rd on the podium. It downplays its recent decline with the holidaymaker community. The James Cameron movie now has a total of 13,366,309 views. It is gradually approaching the score of the first part, which exceeded 15 million (in addition to its releases). The filmmaker is on double duty as Titanic is the fourth, thanks to his new release celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary. Babylon with Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie continues its wonderful French career with a total of over 1.2 million admissions.

The rest of the rating consists mainly of family films. The only other new features are Holy Mummies and Zod and Tehu.
