Warning – The article below contains spoilers for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” as it discusses the content of its first post-credits scene. Please continue if you haven’t seen it yet.
This has been a tradition in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the first Iron Man came out in 2008. And that won’t change with Phase V. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania requires you to stay in your seat until the credits roll or you’ll miss extra scenes. Including the one that comes after the first half of the credits.
What does the scene contain?
After the quantum world and the Earth, it heads for space. Or, at least, a place unknown to us at the moment. And we discover the identity of those responsible for the exile of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), which Ant-Man seems to have won at the end of Peyton Reed’s film: creatures that have the same face, but different, one of them. They have clothing that appears to be from ancient Egypt.
If the MCU wants to stay true to the comics it’s inspired from, we’re dealing with Kang’s options, not his creators. And it’s the Immortal and Scarlet Centurion, both from the future and the alternate universe, and Rama-Tut, a version of the villain (aka Nathaniel Richards) who conquered ancient Egypt.
Kang between his two variants: Ironlad and Immortus
Clearly aware of their colt’s failure, they complain that people are starting to poke their noses into the multiverse, putting all their work at risk. The decision is then made to call out all the options, which seem too numerous in an arena filled with more and more ecstatic versions of Kang.
What should we remember?
Is Quantum Mania’s Kang touted as the next big villain in Marvel Cinematic Universe? Or will it be one of its options? At the end of the feature film, this aspect remains unclear, and there is no doubt that Kevin Feige and his teams will keep the secret for several more films and series. But it does give us our first look at the dynasty that will be at the heart of the next Avengers movie and its potential threat.

This scene is reproduced in the film
Besides showing what the multiverse looks like from afar (big bright intersecting lines), the scene suggests that there are as many options for Kang as there are parallel universes. or excessively. But should we conclude that the heroes of the following films and series will encounter different versions of the villain? The mystery remains there as well.
As well as Immortus, the Scarlet Centurion and Rama-Tut’s involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though since Nathaniel Richards is the father of Fantastic Four leader Reed, there’s a good chance we’ll be talking about Kang again at that time. Especially since the comic book version of the villain was hiding under the guise of their sworn enemy, Dr. Doom.
This post-credits scene at least advances the larger story (slightly), even if it’s primarily a teaser for the launch of Phase V.
