HPI: Who will play Karadec in the American remake? Discover his face

After yesterday announcing the name of the actor who will play Morgan Alvaro, and therefore take the place of Audrey Fleuro, in the American remake of HPI, ABC has just revealed the identity of the person who will camp in Adam Karadek, played by Mehdi Nebibu.

It was Daniel Sunjata who was chosen to answer Kaitlin Olson (Philadelphia) in the American version of TF1’s flagship detective series. The actor’s face may not be familiar to you, as he played one of Bailey’s suitors in Season 7 of Grey’s Anatomy. He currently stars in Power Book II: Ghost and Echoes (available on Netflix).

Written by World War Z and Cloverfield screenwriter Drew Goddard, the HPI remake, like the original series, centers on the character of Morgana (played by Caitlin Olson), a single mother of three who is putting her wits to the test. to the common police service to help them solve the most difficult investigations.

As in the TF1 version, he is hired as a consultant at the police station during a cleaning session after solving a crime and joins Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), an experienced inspector who has to deal with Morgan’s extravagant personality.

An undoubted success

First broadcast in April 2021, HPI quickly established the event by beating all records. The Audrey Fleuro-directed cop series managed to air its first season, averaging around 10 million viewers. Indicators that have not been reached on television since 2007.

So it’s no surprise that the French fiction, which will return to TF1 in the spring for a third season, has attracted the attention of American studios. The remake project, which was announced last September, is therefore starting to materialize.

HPI is an incredible international adventure, and the subject of its exploitation in the United States has appeared very quickly,” explained Rodolphe Bouet, General Manager of Newen Connect, in a press release when the American remake was announced.

The enthusiasm of the ABC Signature teams and their discussions with the producers convinced us that they could bring additional influence to the series and allow the original TF1 creation to bring the colors and flair of the French production..”
