Wheel alignment is critical to economy and safety

Keeping your car in proper wheel alignment and steering condition is essential for peace of mind.

Many people only remember wheel and steering alignment on their vehicle when some type of tire-related maintenance is needed, but servicing properly and regularly ensures safe driving and greater economy, as proper alignment ensures ‘increase in the useful life of the tires and also of the suspensions.

When driving the vehicle on a straight, level road with little wind, it is not common for the car to “pull” to the sides. If this happens, it is an indication that the wheel alignment and vehicle steering need to be adjusted.

If your car shows these signs, look for a specialized garage, with adequate equipment and trained professionals to evaluate the reason for this behaviour. Most of the time, the procedure is simple and can be fixed with some adjustments or by replacing parts.

Misalignment most often occurs as a result of worn suspension components, hitting a curb, driving through a pothole, and more serious circumstances, such as an accident.

The DPaschoal network offers the “Total Alignment” service, which measures all steering and wheel measurements, such as toe, toe, camber and caster, on the front and rear axles of the vehicle.

On the network, the alignment service has a six-monthly coverage. To carry out this and other services, DPaschoal technicians receive at least 180 hours of training at the Training and Innovation Technology Center (CTTi) and the equipment used in the alignment undergoes periodic maintenance, in order to ensure accuracy, agility and safety.

For Rafael Cardoso, product engineer at DPaschoal, most drivers are not aware of the need for this service, which is essential to ensure safety, comfort and economy.

“Many people don’t pay much attention to the issue of vehicle alignment, but this has a lot of influence in terms of safety, comfort and economy. In the DPaschoal network we offer Total Alignment, where the customer is guaranteed that the service will be done correctly and without any surprises at the end,” he reports.

“Services of caster, camber and rear axle alignment are already included and when there is a need for further adjustments, the consultant advises and negotiates with the customer and once finalized, six months free coverage of services is guaranteed in any unit of the DPaschoal Network company,” says Rafael.
