Former presidents Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump are expected to meet at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington in March, according to the event organizers. “President Jair Bolsonaro says political correctness is a thing for radical leftists. He’s right. Let’s make that a thing of the past, too. Many call him the ‘Donald Trump’ of South America. Here at the CPAC, we call it a friend’s,” wrote the conference organizers in an official posting on Twitter.
The event, considered a right-wing mecca, takes place from March 1 to 4 and sees Trump as one of the speakers. A little while ago, the federal deputy and son of the former president, Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), confirmed the meeting on his social networks. According to the deputy, Trump and Bolsonaro will be “for the first time on the same stage in a political event”.
Despite the announcements, there is still no official confirmation from the advice of former presidents. Bolsonaro has been in the US since late December and recently said he will return to Brazil in the coming weeks.
