Head coach Lionel Scaloni, world champion of the Argentina national team in 2022, will teach students of a coaching course in Coverciano, Italy.
The former defender of Lazio and Atalanta, one of the greatest idols in the history of Deportivo La Coruña, is currently on the rise and is a candidate for the award of best coach in the world.
Scaloni will share the stage of the sports center with Ferdinando De Giorgi, world champion last year with the Italian men’s volleyball team.
The Argentine and the Italian are among the guests of honor of the 2023 edition of the “Panchina d’Oro”, which will today reward (20) the best coaches of the last football season in the country.
Scaloni finished his playing career in 2015 and took charge of Argentina in 2018 following the sacking of Jorge Sampaoli.
The former winger started his career as an interim player but stayed on permanently.
The coach helped his country win the 2021 edition of the Copa América, ending a 28-year fast without Albiceleste titles. The following year Scaloni won the third world championship with Argentina. .
