Available on Netflix, “Ring Away from the Road” launches Omar Sai and Laurent Lafitte in a new incredible affair. For one of the last sections of the film, the director was inspired by the attack on the Capitol in 2021.
Far from the periphery, Omar Sai and Lauren Lafitte are investigating a mysterious death that will take them to a small village in the Alps. With this feature film, director Louis Letterier pushes the action section even further and even allows himself some horrible moments – while remaining within the boundaries of the main film.
The third action shows the two accomplices confronting a small group gathered in a hangar led by an antagonist, camped by Dimitri Storozh. Very quickly, events reversed. The characters find themselves surrounded, in danger, while a group of people act like superhumans. For this sequence, the director explains that he was inspired by an important event of 2021: the Capitol attack in the United States.
“The attack on the Capitol, in my eyes, was a human wave, like a horde of the living dead: their gaze was empty. He described in detail in the film’s press team. We wanted to make them funny and dehumanized, as if they were a global and unified mass. We wanted the film to move into a horror comedy, with a political overtone, first using genre codes and then redirecting them.. ”
Louis Letterier is currently working on a new project across the Atlantic, and no less: Fast X, the tenth opus of the franchise. ᲡQuick and furious. He will replace Justin Lynn, who left the series after much arguing with actor Vin Diesel.
