Galaxy A14 4G is official with MediaTek and 50MP camera

Samsung’s new entry-level phone features a Full HD+ resolution screen, a 5,000mAh battery and triple rear cameras

Weeks after the revelation of the Galaxy A14 5G — which is already sold in Brazil as well —, the SAMSUNG today (27) unveiled a new entry-level mobile phone, the Galaxy A14 4G. Unlike its brother, this model is equipped with a processor MediaTek and does not support the fifth generation network, but still has interesting features for the category.

The new device looks virtually identical to the Galaxy A14 5G, with a screen with reasonably thin borders around it and a teardrop notch at the top of the panel. Behind it has triple rear-facing cameras with loose lenses on the back cover, and it has a fingerprint reader built into the power button – the most noticeable difference here is the textured rather than smooth reflective finish.

The Galaxy A14 4G features a 50MP main rear camera, combined with a 2MP one for macro photography, but replaces the Galaxy A14 5G’s depth sensor with a 5MP ultrawide one.

In addition, the device features a 13MP front camera and a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution (2,408 x 1080 pixels). It’s unclear if it supports a higher refresh rate.

Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed its processor, only saying that it has eight cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Previous rumors have pointed out that its chipset would be the MediaTek Helio G80, which has compatible specs. It still has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, running Android 13 under One UI 5.0 out of the box.

The device has a battery capacity of 5,000mAh, which supports 15W fast charging, within what is usual for Samsung for this category.

price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A14 4G was first unveiled in Malaysia and it’s unclear where else it will be available. Its price information is also a mystery, but it has already been announced that it will be offered in black, green, silver and red.
