‘Total Boring’ or ‘Masterpiece’: The Last of Us Episode 7 Divides Fans

Attention, this article tells about the 7th episode of the series. If you haven’t seen it, go ahead.

We knew it thanks to the trailer, The Last of Us Episode 7 takes place a few months before Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) meet. It adapts to the screen DLC game “Left Behind” (expansion), which focuses on a young girl. We find out exactly how and why they were bitten.

Episode 7 opens with Eli trying to save a badly wounded Joel. While the latter tells him to die and leave, the teenager doesn’t know what to do. This event seems to awaken pain in him, and as he opens the door to leave, Neil Druckman and Craig Mazin’s series also invites us to go to the other side and go back in time.

We find Eli a few months earlier in Boston, in the quarantine zone. It is in one of these complexes that he trains to become a good little soldier (with loss and noise).

When her roommate Riley (as the brilliant Storm Reid), who has just joined the Fireflies, offers to accompany her somewhere, she is tempted. Head to the mall at night for an evening of fun… before an infected person comes to ruin the party.

Episode 7, like Episode 3, is particularly important because we learn throughout the story that Eli is gay. We even witness a kiss between two young girls. If this, unfortunately, attracted some detractors, the actors did not hesitate to answer them, as Storm Reid of this interview.

In general, fans were disappointed with this episode “Except” because it comes at the climax of the series, where Joel’s fate is uncertain. We experienced a roller coaster of emotions in episode 7, the latest one takes us back. And this lack of action (and adrenaline) is not to everyone’s liking:

But The Last of Us Episode 7 still has its share of fans. Because the HBO series has proven to us that it can move us without acting or being infected:

The Last of Us episodes are available on Prime Video.
