The writer of ‘Ant-Man 3’, surprised by the devastating criticism: “I thought it was really good”

Jeff Loveness does not understand the bad criticism of ‘Ant-Man: Quantumania’: “I am proud of what I have written.”

Although ‘Ant-Man 3: Quantumania’ had a good first weekend of release, takings fell sharply in the second due to word of mouth and bad reviews which is reaping the Marvel movie. So much so that ‘Ant-Man 3’ broke a negative record by suffering biggest box office drop in MCU history.

However, its writer Jeff Loveness doesn’t understand these bad reviewswhich have caused ‘Ant-Man 3’ to be the only Marvel UCM movie (along with ‘Eternals’) to have a negative average on the Rotten Tomatoes ratings portal.

To be honest, those reviews took me by surprise.said Loveness told The Daily Beast In an interview. “I was pretty down… Those weren’t good reviews, and I was like, ‘Wha…?'”

But despite comments to the contrary, Loveness is very satisfied with his work. “I am very proud of what I wrote for jonathan [Majors] and Michelle Pfeiffer. I thought it was really good, you know? So I was down I was very sad about that.”

The consolation that Loveness has left is that not all Marvel fans are speaking ill of the film, and in the scores on the aforementioned Rotten Tomatoes portal the audience’s note is more positive than that of specialized critics. This was verified by the scriptwriter himself when he attended one of the screenings of the film: “I went to [una proyección] of the film after the first reviews were published, and audiences were laughing. In fact, i tried to do that [‘Quantumania’] felt more like a 90s adventure comedy than anything else. I wanted it to be like ‘Men in Black’ is fun and silly, but it also has high stakes and real motives for the characters.”

If you saw people in the room, that means you went to one of the sessions on the first weekend, because the film saw its box office drop as much as 70% in its second week in theaters.

The discussion is open: Is ‘Ant-Man 3’ the worst Marvel movie? Is audiences getting sick of MCU superhero movies?
