Corinthians beat Flamengo in the Brazilian Under 20 championship


The team from São Paulo secured the victory in the 1st half and neutralized the opponent during the 90 minutes

Corinthians was unaware of Flamengo in the debut of the Brazilian Under-20 championship and applied a rout against Rubro-Negro. With four goals in the first half, the São Paulo team secured an early victory and won the match 4-0.




The first goal of the match was against and came from the feet of the Rossoneri player Diego. Shortly afterwards, Higor (twice) and Felipe Augusto doubled the scoring before the 33rd minute of the first half. With the lead built up in the first half, coach Danilo’s team managed the result again only in the second half.

Upon returning from the dressing room, Flamengo found themselves in the match, but were unable to attack their opponent effectively. At the other end, Corinthians followed up with an excellent marking scheme which neutralized the Rossoneri.

With the result, Corinthians took the lead in Group A of the Brazilian Sub-20 league. Flamengo start the competition in bottom place. In the next round, San Paolo takes the field against Internacional away, next Friday, at 7pm. On Monday 13th, the team from Rio de Janeiro will face Fluminense, at 3.30pm, in Gávea.
