The new version of Bing gets an AI chat along the lines of ChatGPT; see how to join the waitlist and use the search tool
With the growing popularity of AI chats, the bing took the opportunity to incorporate the resource into the research platform. The technology is developed by OpenAI, the same as ChatGPT and from which it has received investments Microsoftconsidered a more advanced and powerful version of GPT 3.5.
The new Bing, as the company calls it, was made available in February 2023 and to use it you need to register your email on a waiting list. Using Microsoft apps, such as the Bing mobile search engine and Edge browser, can help release the service earlier.
With the new Bing available, the search engine allows AI to be used in all searches with the “Chat” tab. If you don’t want to resort to the tool, you can still use the other conventional features of the search engine.
How to join the Bing waitlist with AI
- Login bing.com/new or sign in to the Bing Search app (Android | iOS);
- Press “Join Waiting List”;
- Sign in with a Microsoft account;
- After login, you will already be in the list. The platform sends an email after releasing the service on your account.
The timescales for making the new Bing available may vary. During this test, it took my Microsoft account 10 days to receive the feature.
How to use Bing AI Chat
You can use the feature on Bing via Microsoft Edge, the mobile app or the Windows system tray.
- Open Bing and enter any search term;
- Wait for the AI response. Select “Let’s talk” or go to the “Chat” tab to start a conversation window;
- You can reply to topics or use the platform’s reply suggestions. Bing’s AI can reply up to six times on the same conversation. Next, you need to scan your history and launch another dialog.
What can I chat with Bing AI?
The possibilities for dialogue are numerous. On the feature’s introductory page, Bing offers some popular examples, such as finding recipes for a specific ceremony, generating codes, creating a travel itinerary, and writing a poem.
