Fluminense did its part and won the bangu this Saturday afternoon, 5 to 0, at the Mané Garrincha, in Brasilia, for the tenth round of the Cup Guanabarato the Brazilian championship. Now they will have to cheer against their arch-rival Flamengo to continue with title chances. Goose, barrel (twice), airs AND brown scored the goals of the match.
With the win, Fluminense remained in second place, now with 22 points. One point behind the leader Flamengo. To be champion of the Guanabara Cup, Laranjeiras’ team will have to hope that Flamengo loses BasqueSunday, and then beat Flamengo on Wednesday, at the Maracanã.
Bangu, on the other hand, has collected the third consecutive defeat and appears only in seventh place, with 12 points, still appearing in the classification area for the Cup River.
With the ball in motion, Fluminense had no difficulty pursuing the victory in the first half. In the ninth minute, Ganso delivers a classy free-kick and hits the goalkeeper’s corner Matteo Santillo. The benefit gave more peace of mind to the Ferdinand Diniz.
Standing up, Fluminense got Bangu involved and continued to have the best scoring chances. And the second came in the 23rd minute, when Arias received a pass down the right and crossed for top scorer Cano to complete the goal, marking his eighth State goal.
In the second half Fluminense follows better and increases the lead. At 15 minutes, Martinelli was shot down by Patrician in Zone. In the next minute, Arias went for the kick and finished in the right corner. The goalkeeper hit the corner, but that didn’t prevent the third goal.
It didn’t take long and Fluminense had another penalty again, this time conceded John manson. In the 31st minute, top scorer Cano charged in the middle and scored his second goal of the match, practically ending the confrontation in the federal capital.
After the fourth goal, Bangu lifted the scoring to try and take Fluminense out of their attack, but they failed to do so. Laranjeiras’ team continues with the ball at their feet and scores their fifth goal in the 46th minute, with a header from Marrony, who gives the final numbers to the game.
For the last round of the Guanabara Cup, Bangu will return to action on Thursday when they visit Vasco at 19:30 in São Januário, Rio. Fluminense will face Flamengo on Wednesday at 21:10 at the Maracanã.
