Kids’ Choice awards Bob Esponja, Sonic, Wandinha, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles

Children’s channel Nickelodeon announced the winners of the 36th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards last Saturday night (3/3). Hosted by Nate Burleson and Charli D’Amelio at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the event was broadcast live on Nickelodeon and other Paramount networks.

The main trophies went to “Sonic 2: The Movie” and “The Fairly OddParents: More Magical Than Ever”, winners of the Best Children’s Movie and TV Show categories. But “Wandinha” and “High School Musical: The Series: The Musical” were the most awarded productions, with two Orange Zeppelins each.

It was Jenna Ortega, Wandinha’s first time participating in the awards and she had already been recognized by the Nickelodeon audience as Favorite Actress and Best TV Show in the Family (Not Just Kids) categories. The series based on “High School Musical” awarded actress Olivia Rodrigo and actor Joshua Bassett.

Despite leading the nominations, with a total of six nominations, the series “Stranger Things” won only one trophy: Finn Wolfhard won for best actor in a family program. Out of curiosity, her colleague Millie Brown Brown was also awarded but as favorite film actress for “Enola Holmes 2”.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was named Favorite Movie Actor for “Black Adam.” The animation trophies went to the series “SpongeBob SquarePants” and the film “Minions: The Rise of Gru”. Detail: This was the 20th time “Bob Esponja” won the Kids’ Choice.

The ceremony also enshrined Taylor Swift and Harry Styles in the music categories. And among the performances at the event, the highlight was Bebe Rexha, who finished her rendition of “I’m Good (Blue)” under the traditional green goo hurled at the special guests.
