Klara Castanho moves in ‘Altas Horas’: ‘Forced to talk about the worst that happened in my life’

Klara Castanho cried during the program “Altas Horas” aired on Saturday evening (4/3) by Globo, venting about the case of rape and reporting of her pregnancy which took place last year. It was the first time the 22-year-old actress had spoken about the subject on a TV show.

Aware that it was the topic that most intrigued the public, he opened Serginho Groisman’s program with the topic. “I know it’s a latent issue. Because it’s my first time publicly, that’s what people want to know.”

“I never imagined that I would have to talk about it and deal with it outside the group of people who have been unintentionally included, my family. I have had a lot of acceptance, people have been very kind. I have a wonderful support network,” she said .

The case came to light on May 24 last year, when Matheus Baldi wrote on his social networks that Klara had given birth to a child. At the request of the actress herself, this post was deleted. But then columnist Leo Dias revealed he knew “unbelievable” information about an actress when she appeared on “The Night” on June 16.

He stated that his “bill” would come, as the case “involves lives” and “karma”, and would be evil. Taking a turn on the subject, Antonia Fontenelle decided to give more details, revealing that “a 21-year-old global actress would have become pregnant and she would have donated the child for adoption”. “She didn’t want to look at the child’s face,” said the YouTuber, who classified the story as “monstrous” and a crime. “Bringing a child into the world and not wanting to see him and throwing him away by chance is a crime, yes, only those who have never been to a shelter find this adoption story cute, especially when it comes to a black child. The name of this is abandonment of the incompetent,” he said.

All this led Klara Castanho to make a post on her social networks in which she explained that she had suffered sexual violence, but did not report the incident to the police because she felt “shame and guilt”. She believed that if she ignored it, she “maybe she would forget”.

The discovery of the pregnancy came when she felt ill. However, the doctor who attended her did not sympathize with her pain, even though he knew her story. She stated that she would not be able to raise a child following a rape, so she chose to donate the child and went through all the legal procedures.

However, when she had the baby, she says she was threatened by a nurse, who wanted to make the case public through the press. That’s how her pregnancy ended up losing.

Since then, she has tried to stay away from the media. “It was a period of voluntary retirement, after everything that happened last year,” she said. “After everything that happened I reached my limit of what I could and could say. I was forced to talk about the worst thing that happened in my life. I was lucky enough to be greeted by wonderful people.”

The artist stressed the importance of psychological follow-up and said his case “proved that the Internet is no longer a no-man’s land” after identifying several attacks he suffered from allegedly anonymous people, induced to the worst by pundits and youtubers.

“Living in the age of social media is terrible. People think they can do anything just because I’m behind a black screen. The lack of compassion is increasingly explicit. My story has been told crookedly, but I’m glad to having had my voice. A lot of people read a headline and didn’t want to understand what was going on,” she said.

He added that, today, “some people don’t understand, but they respect my decision.” And she explained: “I did what I could, as I could. What my psychology can bear”, that is, donate the child born from the rape.

Now he awaits justice. “I reported every crime I was subjected to,” she said of the rape, the leak of her pregnancy, and the slanders raised in the media. “After making myself public, once again, in a forced way, I denounced all the crimes to which I was subjected. All, without exception”.

Klara also said that “what I have left at this moment, and I am pleased, is to trust in Justice. And I trust a lot. Not only in Justice, but in a greater Justice,” she added.

Klara Castanho’s statements moved the audience and guests of the program. Held in honor of International Women’s Day, “Altas Horas” also featured presenter Sandra Annenberg, former BBB Tina Calamba, minister and indigenous leader Sandra Guajajara, and singers Roberta Miranda and Maria Rita. Everyone was shocked by the report and hugged the actress.

The name of Klara Castanho entered at dawn on Sunday (5/3) among the most commented topics on Twitter. And the image of the hug that Sandra Annenberg gave the actress at the end of her report has gone viral.
