“If they cross my path, I’ll kill them. Everyone I killed wanted to challenge me, confront me,” he told the paper in 1986.
Found dead this Sunday, 5, the serial killer known as Pedrinho Matador granted at least two interviews to the Stadium during the time he was incarcerated, serving time for dozens of murders.
Pedro Rodrigues Filho, 68, gained notoriety in the 1980s when he was sentenced to nearly 300 years in prison. Amended in 2019, the Brazilian Penal Code does not allow someone to serve a prison sentence of more than 40 years (previously, the limit was 30 years).
In an article published on August 1986, Pedro said he did not know why he killed. “(…) Don’t mess with anyone, I lead my own life. But if they get in my way, I’ll kill. Everyone I’ve killed wanted to challenge me, confront me. When I take my first blow, I can’t control myself anymore. That’s who I am. I kill and I kill and I kill,” he told the report at the time.

He also stated that he feels no remorse. “I have no regrets. I kill and it’s all natural,” she said. “I’m not afraid of anything. I’ve never been afraid since I ran away from home and went out into the world. The important thing is to be prepared. I have a strength that helps me kill. But that’s a secret.”
He was again interviewed by the newspaper in 2004, after more than three decades in prison. He spoke to journalist Fausto Macedo about the world outside bars and the expectations of getting out of prison. “I try to know everything out there. And I have family, I have friends, many, many, it’s all a believer. They’ll teach me everything again.”

Homocide
According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the case was registered as aggravated homicide and is investigated by the police. Military police officers were called to deal with the incident on Rua José Rodrigues da Costa. The victim was shot and the suspects fled shortly after the crime, he said.
