‘Daisy & The Six’ has become the first fictitious musical group that manages to position one of its songs at number 1 on iTunes.
The rock band starring in ‘Everybody Loves Daisy Jones’ has managed to position itself at number 1 on iTunes (Thus being the first fictional band to achieve this merit).
The wind is blowing in favor of this “70s” rock band. His album, ‘Aurora’, has been released on the music platform, after the series hit the Prime Video catalog, and his song ‘Let Me Down Easy’ became number 1 on iTunes last Thursday.
Reese Witherspoon, who has been part of the project as an executive producer, shared the news on her social networks, writing: “WOW! Look what you HAVE done!“. Later, he added: “This is amazing! Congrats to the #EverybodyWantDaisyJones team and Blake Mills!“
Blake Mills is responsible for writing and producing the 11 tracks on the album by this fictitious group. He also had the help of Phoebe Bridgers, Marcus Mumford and Jackson Browne. After the event, she concisely shared: “What a beast!“.
The group, ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’, is made up of: daisy jones (Riley Keough) Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) Graham Dunne (Will Harrison) Karen Sirko (Suki Waterhouse) eddie roundtree (Josh Whitetree) and Warren Rojas (Sebastian Chacon). Its creation arose from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name, which was inspired by the real band Fleetwood Mac to create its main characters.
In the book, the author described ‘Aurora’ as an album “to have a good time”. “It’s a record you can play at a party. A disc to be placed. A record to put on while speeding down the freeway,” can be read in its lines. “At any time in life, in 1978, ‘Aurora’ was playing in the background. Since its release, it has been an absolute success.”
But, How was it possible to transport a fictional album, from the pages to the iTunes charts? The secret is in its interpreters. Not only were the songs created as a result of the novel, the actors of the musical group also did a task of building the group.
The band members attended a rock camp, where they each learned to play their respective instrument.. For many, it was the first time for him. Then, at the end of the training, they would perform a concert in front of 100 Prime Video executives, where they would have to demonstrate their new skills.
“It was a very strange experience” Claflin commented for EW. “It was the first time we saw each other in the costume of the character, on stage. Right before we performed, they said, ‘By the way, can you guys introduce each song and do a bit of a show in between?‘”
The leading actress, Riley Keough, acknowledged that the show had been completely professional. “When we finished we thought: ‘Wow… We can’t have done everything without making a mistake.’ At first we thought we would have to fake a lot of parts. That we were able to do it in its entirety… We were really impressed.”
Who knows, maybe ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ can break out of our devices and onto a live stage. The cast members appear to be up for a tour. Time will tell.
