Kovabunga! The Ninja Turtles’ Rallying Cry is heard once again on the big screen in Ninja Turtles Teenage Years!
Set to hit theaters on August 9, 2023, this animated film has just released its first images and an impressive voice cast!
On the stage of the Kid’s Choice Awards on March 5, the feature film revealed the list of actors who will lend their voices to the saga’s iconic characters.
Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael will be played by Nicolas Cantu, Shamon Brown Jr., Micah Abbey and Brady Nunn.
In the trailer and first poster, we can see that the aesthetic visual identity of the work is reminiscent of Spider-Man New Generation with its bright flights of colors. The dynamism of the animation should also be taken into account, which is very promising.
Either way, these 4 young actors will put themselves in the shoes of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The latter will be prepared by the iconic Master Splinter, voiced by Jackie Chan! As for The Bear’s Ayo Edibire, she will be playing the role of Turtle’s journalist friend, April O’Neill.
Seth Rogen, soon to be the voice of Donkey Kong in Super Mario Bros, will play another animal in Ninja Turtles, the terrifying (and very stupid) mutant warthog Bebop.
He is accompanied by his sidekick Rocksteady the Rhino, voiced by John Cena. Rogen won’t be out of place, having already doubled as Pumbaa in the 2019 remake of The Lion King.
In turn, Ice Cube lends his voice to Superfly, Paul Rudd to Mondo Gecko and Rose Byrne to Leatherhead. Giancarlo Esposito, of Gus Fring fame from Breaking Bad, will also star as Baxter Stockman.
However, fans are wondering where two of the saga’s legendary characters have gone: the big bad Shredder and the famous Casey Jones, the Turtles’ friend who wears a hockey mask. Will they not be in the movie or will it be announced later? We will definitely have the answer in the upcoming trailer.
