Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins’ Star Wars films are no longer in the works at Lucasfilm

Although Star Wars on the small screen it continues to grow and thrive, on the big screen not a trip to the galaxy far far away since 2019 the rise of skywalker. Jenkins’ film was apparently already suffering from engine problems, as the director delayed work on it to focus on a third. wonderful woman project, but returned when it was turned down by Warner Bros./DC. And though it said it was still in development, the trade magazine felt it was really pegged.

As for Feige, yes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Screenwriter Michael Waldron is working on the script for his untitled film, but it appears the producer’s duties to oversee the Marvel Cinematic Universe are holding him back from truly moving forward.

On a more positive note, Taika Waititi is still working on his film and has indicated that he may star in it as well, and there are other possibilities at stake, including a film that has Mrs. WonderSharmeen Obaid-Chinoy of Sharmeen to direct and Damon Lindelof to screenplay. Rian Johnson, meanwhile, has ambitions to return to the Star Wars galaxy but is busy with the next knives out sequel and a second television season Poker face.

Disney and Lucasfilm have a December 2025 release slot for a new film, but there’s no official title to fill it yet. We should learn more during the Star Wars Celebration, which takes place between April 7 and 10 in London.
