On a more positive note, Taika Waititi is still working on his film and has indicated that he may star in it as well, and there are other possibilities at stake, including a film that has Mrs. WonderSharmeen Obaid-Chinoy of Sharmeen to direct and Damon Lindelof to screenplay. Rian Johnson, meanwhile, has ambitions to return to the Star Wars galaxy but is busy with the next knives out sequel and a second television season Poker face.

Disney and Lucasfilm have a December 2025 release slot for a new film, but there’s no official title to fill it yet. We should learn more during the Star Wars Celebration, which takes place between April 7 and 10 in London.
