The comment comes after a Twitter thread in which Musk questioned Thorleifsson’s role at the company and downplayed the employee’s muscular dystrophy.
“The reality is this guy (who is independently wealthy) didn’t actually work, he claimed as an excuse that he had a disability that prevented him from writing, but at the same time he was tweeting furiously. I can’t say I have much respect for that,” he said. wrote Musk on the 7th.
At the time, Thorleifsson had contacted Musk to find out if he was still a Twitter employee – as access to the computer had been cut off for days, with no response from the HR department, which has since confirmed the firing.
The employee worked remotely from Iceland, where he was born, is 45 and suffers from muscular dystrophy, which is why he sold his creative design firm, Ueno, to Twitter, in 2021.
