After just two weeks on air, the Safe series will give you all the answers this Thursday 9 March from 9.10pm on TF1.
Having already aired on C8 in 2018 and available to stream on Netflix for over four years, the original thriller from Harlan Coben (The Five, Gone Forever) and Danny Brocklehurst got its start in earnest on TF1 last Thursday. 3.28 million viewers, with a 24.4% market share of those responsible for buying under 50 (the target the channel was leading on).
The eight-episode series takes us into a privileged and sheltered English society, where Tom Delaney (Michael S. Hall), a surgeon and father struggling to cope with his wife’s grief, is faced with the mysterious disappearance of his eldest daughter. Jenny.
Determined to find out what happened and find his daughter safe and sound, Tommy uncovers deeply buried secrets in his search for the truth and realizes that he doesn’t really know the people around him. Can he really trust his relatives?
After airing the first three episodes of Safe last week, TF1 offers episodes 4 to 8 tonight. Therefore, the audience finally discovers the circumstances of Jenny’s disappearance. But, for that, they will have to stay awake until 1:35 a.m., when the last episode of the series ends.
No season 2 is safe
Despite its good actors, especially Michael S. Whether by Holly (Dexter), Audrey Fleurot (HPI) or Amanda Abington (Sherlock), Safe was always seen as a complete mini-series and thus never got a second season. After its broadcast in 2018 on C8 in France and internationally on Netflix.
Fans of Harlan Coben, whose bestsellers such as Gone Forever, Intimidation and Into the Woods have been adapted into TV series, will be pleased to know that as part of the novelist’s partnership with Netflix, the novel double trap (Fool me once) will be on the screen soon.
Still helmed by screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst, Fool Me Once will receive an eight-part miniseries starring Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Adele Akhtar, Joanna Lumley and Emmett J. Scanlan is performing, already in the credits of Seif. The series began filming last month, and a Netflix release date has yet to be announced.
