It is not possible to identify which smartphone model caused the problem, nor what were the conditions that led to this situation. However, cases of this type are usually related to old and maintenance-free batteries, or even components of unreliable origin.

Mobile phones that emit smoke: what (not) to do?

In general, the attitudes assumed by the students appearing in the video can be considered dangerous. It is not recommended to uselessly touch the mobile phone while it is smoking, or to pour water on it.

Since the equipment is in an unstable condition, there is a risk of explosion. Therefore, the first precaution to adopt is to place the smartphone in an isolated place, especially away from other objects that could spread the potential fire.

Next, it is important to always keep your distance from the device, another concern that was not addressed by the students, since many were within inches of the mobile.

Fire extinguishers that do not contain water can also be used on the device, provided safety distances are maintained. If a fire extinguisher is not available, the best alternative is to seek help from the fire department or other competent teams.

Prevention is also essential so that cases like this do not happen. For this reason it is important to always use original chargers or well-known brands.

It is also recommended to be aware of the condition of the battery, especially if it is an older device. Any sign of swelling or overheating on the rear panel of the smartphone requires an immediate visit to the service center.
