Iron Man vs Batman: What do Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne have in common?

Billionaires recognized by civil authorities, business leaders… Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne have several points in common, but one of them is more unknown and unusual.

Because believe it or not, the Stark and Wayne families have another thing in common that only fans know about: they had a butler named Jarvis.

On the DC side, Alfred’s father, Jarvis, was in the employ of Thomas Wayne and looked after the family mansion.

The proof is provided in us Batman No. 16, published in 1940. Alfred (who then did not have the appearance we know today) introduces himself as Bruce Wayne and explains to the reader that his father Jarvis was already serving the family.

On the Marvel side, Edwin Jarvis was portrayed by actor James D’Arcy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame and Marvel: Agent Carter. This is the butler of Howard Stark, Tony’s father.

Later, Tony Stark created in his honor JARVIS (Just a Pretty Intelligent System), a computer system equipped with a language that protects Stark Industries or Stark Tower. It was destroyed during the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Combining the collected data, vibranium and soul stone, he gave birth to the superhero Vision.

Just like Bruce Wayne and Cal-El’s moms are called “Martha,” Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark also share a little fun fact that used to be just for fans, but not anymore!
