In the Best Director category, the favoritism of the duo Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert, known as “the Daniels”, was confirmed. It was another film award. All everywhere at the same time.
The duo, who have built a career directing music videos, achieve this milestone in their second feature film, a science fiction involving metaverse concepts.
In addition to winning the Oscar for best director, Daniels also took home the statuette for best original screenplay, surpassing it The Banshees of Inisherinwho was also seen as a favorite for the award.
