Coach Cesare Prandelli, who coached the Italian national team from 2010 to 2014, has ruled out a possible return to the world of football.

In an interview with Anch’io Sport radio, the 65-year-old Lombard confirmed that he was receiving job offers, but chose to decline them in order to be able to spend more time with his family.

“Proposals always arrive, but the bench I dream of is a park with my grandchildren to enjoy life with them. No more training,” said the Euro 2012 runner-up.

Prandelli, who has already passed through Verona and Parma, is remembered for the good work he did at the helm of Fiorentina, where he achieved two expressive fourth-place finishes in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons.

In addition to having worked in Italy, the coach has had brief spells at Galatasaray (Turkey), Valencia (Spain) and Al Nasr (United Arab Emirates).

Third at the 2013 Confederations Cup and second at the 2012 European Championships, Prandelli was Azzurra’s coach at the 2014 World Cup, the year of the last participation of the four-time champion in the Cups.

The last time Prandelli sat on a substitute bench was in his second experience with Fiorentina, which started in November 2020 and ended in March of the following year. .
