Batman: 2 DC movies coming in 2025, we tell you everything!

The first film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy starring Christian Bale, Batman Begins airs tonight on TMC. In this case, we invite you to review the upcoming Dark Knight movies.

If in 2012 Christian Bale put the cape and mask of the DC superhero in the closet, in 2016 Ben Affleck played the role of Bruce Wayne. A role the actor and director will reprise in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, out June 14.

But we still don’t know Ben Affleck’s future in the DC universe. James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new bosses of DC Studios, are currently in the process of reshuffle and will make many changes, such as the ousting of Henry Cavill, who at least returned to the role of Superman shortly before in Black Adam.

Last December, James Gunn and Ben Affleck met to discuss the project. Affleck really wants to direct a DC movie, and studio heads are apparently open to doing so, but no official announcement has been made yet.

New DC movie with Ben Affleck announced?

However, James Gunn and Peter Safran have already announced a new Batman movie. A feature film titled The Brave and the Bold will introduce Batman to their new shared universe.

inspired comics The 2009 feature film by Grant Morrison marks Robin’s return to cinema. But the latter will not be Dick Grayson (later Nightwing) or Jason Todd (killed by the Joker and then returned as the Red Hood), but Damian Wayne, his last incarnation.

Damian is Bruce’s son. Genetically perfect, he grew up in the League of Assassins, where he learned to kill very quickly, revealing his existence to his father at the age of ten. Violent and sometimes indiscriminate, he takes on then-Robin Tim Drake and becomes a new version of Batman’s partner himself after stealing the suit.

In the announcement video, James Gunn says:Damian Wayne is my favorite Robin. He’s a do-it-yourself hitman that Bruce tries to set back on track. Their story and it will kind of be the beginning of the DC Universe Bat-Family.”

Will James Gunn and Peter Safran leave Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne Sr. adjusting to this fatherhood? Or start from scratch? The answer we may not have immediately, because the release of the first opus of the first chapter of the DCU, called “Gods and Monsters” (“Gods and Monsters”), will begin in 2025.

Robert Pattinson returns as Batman in 2025

Along with the DC Extended Universe, another Batman saw the light of day in 2022 under the camera of Matt Reeves, with Robert Pattinson as the superhero. A box office success with $771 million internationally, a sequel, due in theaters on October 1, 2025, is already in development.

But like Todd Phillips’ Joker, Matt Reeves’ Batman is a standalone film, not part of the DC Extended Universe. Therefore, two interpreters of Batman must coexist.

Entitled The Batman Part II, the feature film is still surrounded by great obscurity, especially regarding its casting. Robert Pattinson will apparently return, as will Andy Serkis as Alfred, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet about Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Barry Keoghan (The Joker), Paul Dano (The Riddler), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon). and Colin Farrell (Penguin).

However, there is a very good chance that the latter will return, namely Colin Farrell, who will reprise his role in the spin-off series The Penguin, which is currently filming. Last January, Matt Reeves said on the subject: “IThere are a few things we want to do with the Penguin series, both in terms of how we bring it back and how we introduce the Batman sequel.”

Filming on The Batman Part II will begin in November 2023 at the UK studios in Leavesden, located in southern England.
