After winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for his portrayal of PinocchioGuillermo del Toro is putting the pieces together for his next potential live-action film, and spotlighting one that’s been on the old to-do list for years. The director has his sights set on Oscar Isaac, Andrew Garfield and Mia Goth to star in a Frankenstein movies for Netflix.
Expiration reports that it’s far from official at this point, with GDT still working on the script and no formal offer for the three stars. But she’s talked to all of them and they’re ready to come on board. And let’s face it, with del Toro’s credentials these days, who can blame them?
Adapted from Mary Shelley Frankenstein with his own twist, I still have no idea whether it’s a period piece or a contemporary, it’s something the director has been pondering since at least 2008. And with that interest in star power, we just can’t imagine he has every chance to finally become a reality.
