Startup Education Journey and Mereo integrate enterprise education and management platforms

Companies want to expand the training offer to employees with complementary services

the startups Educational tripcorporate training e I deserve, the management of people in the workplace, announced on Thursday 16 the integration of its platforms with the aim of expanding the training offer to company employees. The partnership, however, does not mean a merger of the businesses of these technology companies.

Focused on employee performance, Mereo has a platform that identifies the skills to work on in employees. With the partnership announced this Thursday, client companies will be able to direct their employees to take professional learning courses in the Education Journey solution, which uses artificial intelligence to tailor teaching for each individual.

“Our software is talking and we are going to market with this value-added offering,” says Iona Szkurnik, founder and executive president of Education Journey, created in 2020. According to her, customers of both startups will have access to new features in platforms. “The important thing is that our platforms become personalized and scalable.”

For Ivan Cruz, co-founder of Mereo, born in 2012, it is an opportunity to expand the possibilities of acting with the partnership. “With this new approach, we have been able to understand and address the challenges of each employee,” explains the executive.

The partnership between Education Journey and Mereo was born after the HR startup (“HRtech”, in industry parlance) entered the market looking for an enterprise training solution to complement the people management platform. “To build a solution like this, we would have to enter another world, which was not necessarily strategic for us,” says Cruz.

During last year’s Brazil at Silicon Valley, an event held in Mountain View, California, to bring together Brazilian tech entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, Mereo ended up “stumbled upon” Education Journey at the recommendation of a third party. In the following months, the two startups began testing the integration of the platforms until the partnership was sealed, announced today.

According to the founders, the integration between a corporate training platform and an HR platform can prove useful for companies in a time of downturn in the technology market in the world.

“In a time of mass layoffs, when there’s a tool that gives managers transparency to know which employee is making an effort, it’s possible to manage people and invest in talent based on data,” says Iona. “The lack of transparency and, perhaps, the injustice at the time of mass layoffs is removed, linking it to outcomes.”

Education Journey and Mereo hope that the solution will be adopted by companies with more than 500 employees, from all segments and from different countries, since the platforms are already available in other languages. Startups today have clients like Ambevbhub, Fifth floor, Inter AND Magalùamong others.
