A request to share the investigation into the radical acts of January 8 with a CPI of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District was rejected this Wednesday 15 by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). Moraes justified that the investigations are confidential and are ongoing. The parliamentary commission had requested access to depositions, reports and investigation reports.
The minister has not yet decided on another request from the CPI, to visit prisoners for involvement in the violent acts promoted in Brasilia. Moraes sent District Representative Chico Vigilante (PT), chair of the committee, to clarify who will be visiting and what the goal is. Of the 2,151 people arrested in flagrante delicto on the 8th, 392 remained in prison.
In the same cable, Moraes authorized the testimony of Colonel Jorge Eduardo Naime Barreto, former head of operations of the military police of the federal district, at the CPI. The condition is that the defendant’s defense agrees with the interrogation. The officer was preemptively arrested.
The information comes from the newspaper The State of São Paulo.
