On Wednesday night (15), the proposal for the establishment of a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the Homeless Movement (MST) reached the required number of signatures and was filed with the board of the Legislative Chamber .

On social media you warned that the first goal had been achieved. “We have the minimum of signatures and we have already deposited”he has declared.

Up to the night of this Wednesday (15), the proposal for the establishment of the commission had 172 signatures of deputies. The law establishes that, in order to be filed, the application for the opening of a CPI must have the formal support of at least one third of the Chamber, ie 171 out of a total of 513 members.

Once the minimum signature phase has been completed and the application has been filed, it falls within the powers of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), reads the request for installation of the CPI in the plenary of the Chamber. There is no definition yet on when this will happen.

The MP from Rio Grande do Sul was adamant about the purpose of the so-called CPI MST. “to investigate the performance of the Landless Workers Movement (MST) group, its true purpose, as well as its funders”, he said.

With the progress of the appeal now filed with the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Zucco reiterates that the MST has promoted a series of land invasions, including of productive rural properties. In this sense he cites a case that occurred in southern Bahia.

The movement to collect signatures for the MST CPI advanced after the agribusiness caucus announced support for the issue. In a press conference held in the National Congress on Tuesday evening (14), the president of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture (FPA), deputy Pedro Lupio (PP-PR), stated that the group would be in favor of advancing the proposal presented by Lieutenant Colonel Zucco.

“We need to understand what is triggering and motivating this unprecedented wave of invasions in our recent history”Lupion explained. He also added that he suspects there is a political motivation behind these invasions.
