Economist Enio Verri assumes a new post in a ceremony attended by Lula and the President of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez
The Economist Enio Verri (PT-PR) took office this Thursday 16 as the new Brazilian general manager of Itaipu Binacional, with a mandate that will last until 2027. The event was attended by the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvaby the president of Paraguay, Mario Abdo BenitezComes from Minister of Mines and Energy Brazilian, Alexander Silveira.
Born in Paraná, Verri is an economist, with a master’s degree in economics from the State University of Maringá and a doctorate in Latin American integration from the University of São Paulo, as well as a specialist in economic theory. After terms as a state deputy, he was elected a federal deputy in 2014, for the first time, and re-elected in 2018 and 2022.
After the ceremony, Lula will meet with Benítez, when they should go over the main points on the agenda. The meeting represents a further step forward on the front to expand representation in South America.
