The KION online cinema hosted the premiere of the drama “Tembot” by Tina Mastafova, a student of Alexander Sokurov. She told the story of an ordinary guy who is trying to break out of poverty by agreeing to adventures. The film was made with the support of the Alexander Sokurov Foundation “An Example of Intonation”, the Presidential Grants Foundation, the Vladimir Smirnov Foundation and the Lenfilm film studio. Mastafova’s debut is already available for viewing by subscribers of the KION online cinema.
The hero of the tape Tembot (Marat Taumurzaev) recently graduated from school, he is not going to go to college, but only wants to earn money. To do this, he borrows from dangerous people and plans to open a business with a friend, but he betrays him and disappears with a pledge to rent a room. At home, you don’t have to wait for help and compassion – in the guy, the mother (Marina Misostishkhova) sees her husband who left the family, so she blames him for all sins.
Caught in a dead end, Tembot makes a tough decision – to leave for hard work, where no one will definitely get to him. The problem is that he will not be able to contact anyone if something does not go according to plan. So he meets his remaining friends for the last time before traveling to a difficult future. The stories of growing up teenagers are typical for directors from the Caucasus region, but Mastafova interprets it in her own way. As the main character, she chooses not a girl, whose life is especially complicated by the traditional way of life of society, but a guy, before whom all the doors seem to be open.
