A new saga begins! 5 years after the last part of the trilogy, Matt Reeves’ Planet of the Apes, which aired tonight on France 3, a new film of the franchise has been made.
Filming just wrapped up last month, with Wes Ball directing, especially the Labyrinth director, sharing a rather unusual wrap-up video!
Titled VO Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, this new film reunites Owen Teague, Freya Allan and Peter Macon. The first official visuals of the film have been released ahead of the shooting, which began last October.
According to the rare information available on the synopsis for this new component, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is set to take place a few years after the events of Supremacy.
“Planet of the Apes is one of the most iconic sci-fi sagas in film history. It is also an indelible part of the history of our studio.” said Steve Asbell, president of 20th Century Studios.

Adapted from the 1963 science fiction novel by French writer Pierre Boulle, Franklin J. Schaffner’s first film, directed by Charlton Heston, was released in 1968 and became one of the biggest successes of the year, winning an honorary Oscar for Best. Cosmetics.
