In celebration of the release of this sci-fi movie, we’re offering a quiz about dinosaurs in theaters. Will you succeed flawlessly?
The screenplay was written and directed by film director duo Scott Beck and Brian Woods, to whom we owe the horror film Haunt, 65 – The Land Before producer Sam Raimi (Evil Dead), and the music was composed by his loyal collaborator and friend composer Danny Elfman.
To create the feature film dinosaurs, the producer called Neville Page, who worked on Avatar, Star Trek and Tron.
Visual effects supervisor Chris Harvey says:We wanted to get in shape while shooting realistic dinosaurs to bring out the horror in the scenes. We gave each of these creatures real, tangible elements, a kind of background. The Big Bad, for example, is very jaded: he’s more worn out, scarred by past battles.“
However, don’t expect to see as many dinosaurs as in Jurassic Park Saga. The filmmakers really took a minimalist approach, which is to show as little as possible. They say:We had a motto: what matters when you stop is what you can’t see. A bit like A Quiet Place and Jaws. The idea that there’s something dangerous and mysterious out there, in this environment, where the characters are forced to evolve.”.
65 – The Land Before is now in theaters.
