Streaming service Apple TV + presented a video about the creation of the film “Tetris”, which tells the story of the cult game of the same name. The premiere of the tape with Russian actor Nikita Efremov and the star of the franchise “Kingsman” Taron Egerton will take place at the SXSW film festival in the USA. The picture will appear on the platform on March 31.

The film tells about the head of Blue Planet Software, Hank Rogers. He goes to the USSR in the mid-80s to obtain the rights to distribute a game invented by programmer Alexei Pajitnov. Pajitnov was played by Efremov, and Rogers by Egerton. Both actors in the video share their impressions of the story of their characters and the script of the film, which was written by Noah Pinkom.

It’s not often that I can imagine a film when I read the script, but this one was brilliant,” Efremov says in the video, emphasizing that love is in the center of the tape, like in the center of the Tetris game.

In the video you can see new shots from the upcoming tape. Among them is a fragment of a conversation between Rogers and the head of Nintendo Hiroshi Yamauchi, as well as a meeting between Rogers and Pajitnov, during which the latter explains the ideas of communism to a colleague. The film was directed by John S. Byrd, who directed the cult film Dirt. The project was produced by Ian McKenzie, Matthew Vaughn, Gillian Berry, Claudia Vaughn, Len Blavatnik and Gregor Cameron.

Earlier, work began on the second season of the series “Offline” with Efremov Jr. in the title role. The sequel to Kirill Pletnev’s detective thriller about the brilliant hacker Rust will be released in the Okko online cinema this year.
