Legacy: What’s next for the HBO series after Season 4?

Succession fans will soon have to say goodbye to the rich and powerful Roy family. The multi-award winning series will air at the end of its fourth season.

So who will succeed aging media mogul patriarch Logan (Brian Cox), who is desperately looking for a replacement among his children Connor (Alan Ruck), Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook) at his company. ?

Spin-offs planned for Legacy?

he asked Deadline At the HBO series’ final season premiere in New York, Jesse Armstrong explained why he wanted to end Succession at the end of its 4th season. For him, all ideas beyond the final burst of episodes were no good and made no sense:

“The biggest challenge, once we decided this was the ending, was writing with the ending in mind, knowing that all the things we were thinking about for a sequel were gone. You have to try to make things real and satisfying, and you start to lack direction. Not all stories develop at the same pace.”

Consequently, the legacy storyline will have an end point at the end of season 4, but will the creator want to use the ideas left aside? When asked about the possibility of spin-offs dedicated to certain characters, Jesse Armstrong has a clear answer. No production series planned:

“I think it would be a fun board game to play with my friends, but I wouldn’t say it publicly because it could be misinterpreted. I’d write every single one of them, but I don’t think so. Substantial enough for a proper TV spin-off.”
