‘John Wick 4′ ending explained Is that really the fate of Keanu Reeves’ character?

The fourth installment of ‘John Wick’ ends with a very powerful ending, which will give way to many theories and discussions. What do you think has happened to John Wick?

‘John Wick 4’ is already in theaters and promises to become one of the movies of the year. It won’t come as a surprise seeing how the saga has grown from a small indie project to becoming a franchise of global interest. After all, the third was the first to have a wide theatrical release in Spain and it wasn’t until the fourth when the Keanu Reeves phenomenon was experienced as a true blockbuster release.

‘John Wick 4’ is almost three hours of continuous explosive action. John Wick, a former murderer who is not allowed to retire in peace, continues to try to get them to leave him alone. Of course, he does not get rid of the high price that there is for his head since the second installment. The fourth installment unleashes when the Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard), a senior member of the High Table, forces Caine (martial arts film legend Doonie Yen), a blind and retired assassin, to confront his old friend John. . He does so by threatening to kill his violinist daughter to death.

Caine fails to kill Wick in Osaka thanks to Koji (Hiroyuki Sanada) and his daughter Akira (Rina Sawayama). Akira and Caine will be the protagonists of the John Wick 4 post-credits scene, but we’ll leave that for later. Returning to New York, Winston tells Wick that if he challenges the Marquis to a duel and wins, he will be released from the contract forever. But Wick can only duel if he belongs to one of the established crime families. To join the Ruska Roma, Wick must eliminate Killa (Scott Adkins), another member of the High Table. After completing this little detour that could already be a movie in itself, Wick manages to challenge the Marquis. If Wick wins, Wick wins his freedom and Winston will be in charge of the New York Continental when he rebuilds. If he loses, both Wick and Winston die. And then comes the end of ‘John Wick 4’

    ‘John Wick 4’: Ending Explained

The objective of John Wick is to arrive on time at the indicated place. But then again, the marquess makes sure it costs him his own by letting all the other assassins know that Wick is in town.

Heavily injured, Caine helps Wick up and fight to the finish. At the Sacré-Coeur, Wick and Caine duel and both end up injured. The Marquis takes advantage and goes to finish off a wounded John Wick, but then he is shot in the head. It turns out that in his duel, Wick didn’t even get to shoot, instead he saved the bullet for his enemy. Both Wick and Caine are free but Wick can’t resist his injuries. He collapses going down the steps and dreams of his late wife Helen (Bridget Moynaham). It is then that we hear what he would like his tombstone to say “John Wick, lovely husband” (John Wick, loving husband). John Wick closes his eyes and the screen goes black…

‘John Wick 4’ Is John Wick really dead?

We see Winston and Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) visiting the grave with the inscription we saw. Fishburne’s character asks if Wick is in heaven or hell and Winston replies “Who knows”. But the key to that answer is the smile on Winston’s face. That is what will feed theories everywhere. Yes, we have seen John Wick die and even see his friends visiting his grave.

The clues are clear, that smile tells us that John Wick could have faked his death with the help of Winston so that they would finally leave him alone. Everything stays as a possibility, depending on whether you want to do ‘John Wick 5’ or not. This is how director Chad Stahelski spoke about the ending for The Hollywood Reporter:

In our minds, Keanu and I are done for the moment. Let’s give John Wick a break. I’m sure the studio has a plan. If everyone loves it and goes crazy, we’ll think about changing our minds with ease. There was a different way to do the funeral scene, and we wanted it to be a bit more mysterious. That’s why you see the pup look up at the end. We were open to trying both endings because Keanu and I just wanted to make a good movie. We just wanted to feel what was the most satisfying. So we did a test screening, and the audience got more excited about the ending we chose.

That is to say, believing that John Wick is alive or dead depends on us, like Schroginder’s cat.
